Genesis 2:1-3
“1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their multitude. 2 And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.”
People seem to be busier today than ever before. With our dependence on our cell phones we are always connected to our work, always within reach, never out of touch.
But God believes that we should rest; that rest should be a part of the rhythm of life; that we should plan for rest the same way that we plan for work; that we place the same importance on our rest as we place on our work.
God created something beautiful and wondrous.
And then he rested so that He could enjoy the fruits of His creation.
May the love of Christ be with you,
